Tennessee Valley Standouts Picked on Day Three of MLB Draft

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)- Every young baseball player dreams of getting a call from a major league team during the MLB draft. It finally happened on Saturday for Huntsville High pitcher Graham Ashcraft.  Ashcraft was picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 12th round. He was the 371st overall pick.

The righty is currently committed to play ball at Mississippi State and will have to decide between college and going pro.

Former Sparkman standout Austin Sexton also came off the board on day three. The current Mississippi State pitcher was taken in the 18th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. He finished this past season with an 8-3 record and a 3.67 ERA.
