SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - The Alabama Department of Transportation has scheduled more blasting dates to demolish truss spans of the B.B. Comer Bridge over the Tennessee River in Scottsboro.

One part was demolished last week, and another was blown up Wednesday, June 8.

Future blasting dates have been adjusted -- they are now scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, and 9 a.m. Friday, June 17.

All highway and river traffic within a 1,500-foot radius will be halted prior to blasting. Traffic on Alabama 35 and Alabama 40 at Alabama 35 will be halted for an estimated 15 to 20 minutes, beginning shortly before 9 a.m. River traffic is advised to expect a longer stoppage.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes or expect delays.

Other blasting events will take place on later dates as the demolition process continues.
