Huntsville, Ala. – If you see smoke and flames along Independence Drive today (June 2nd), June 3rd or June 7th, don’t panic.  Chances are it’s the live fire training exercise for the Huntsville Fire & Rescue Training Division.

Using three donated structures at 4020 Independence Drive, the class will use their skills to put out the fires and learn interior operations and defensive operations.  This will start at 8 am and should be wrapped up by 4 pm on those days.  This exercise will produce black smoke in the area, but if you see something that worries you, don’t hesitate to call 911.

If the weather prevents the exercise, it will be rescheduled.  We’ll keep you posted if this happens.

Good luck Cadet Class of 2016, and thank you for your dedication and protection!
