Decatur Police investigating robbery at Veteran’s Outreach

DECATUR, Ala.- Decatur Police are investigating a robbery this evening at the Veteran’s Outreach on Danville Road.

Investigators say every Sunday employees count the donations. While they were doing this, employees told police a man came into the building. That’s when they locked themselves in the bathroom. They told police that’s when the alleged robber put the money in the duffel bag and took off.

The man is described as a Caucasian man between 30 to 40 years-old, between 6’4″ and 6’6″, and around 250 lbs. Employees told police he was wearing a black, long sleeve shirt, that was possibly a hoodie.

The man did not wield a weapon, and no one was hurt. The exact amount of money stolen is unknown.
