Organized Crime Unit arrests two on drug, gun charges

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Drug investigators with the Decatur Police Department put two men behind bars Thursday.

The Organized Crime Unit (OCU) received notice of illegal drug activity, specifically crack cocaine, at a house in the 1200 block of 23rd Avenue.

According to police, on May 11, OCU officers searched the home. When they got there, they found Antonio Anderson, who was trying to leave at the time.

Officers say they recovered cocaine, a gun, and drug sale paraphernalia inside Anderson’s car.

Tommy Nicholas was also at the residence and both men were arrested.

Nicholas, 48, is charged with two counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance.  His bond is set at $10,000.

Anderson, 19, is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Pistole Without a Permit, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While Suspended. He has bond set at $27,500.
