FORT PAYNE, Ala. – Much of Fort Payne was impacted by a power outage this afternoon. It went out after 3 p.m. and included much of the city and Lookout Mountain.
The Fort Payne Improvement Authority said most of the service was restored by 3:50 p.m. Crews are checking isolated spots now.
The problem stemmed from a crossarm that broke and fell on a feeder line going to a substation. It’s now fixed, though.
The Authority said about half of its roughly 9,000 customers were impacted. They thank everyone for their patience.
