PHIL CAMPBELL, Ala. - The town of Phil Campbell held an event Wednesday afternoon to remember the 27 people who died in Franklin County on this day five years ago.

At 3:27 p.m. a church bell rang 27 times, one toll for each life lost. The time marks the exact moment the tornado hit Franklin County on April 27, 2011.

There is another community event this evening.  At 6 p.m. the public is invited to a service at Phil Campbell High School.

We plan to stream the service LIVE on WHNT.com.
