Two railroad crossings in Huntsville closed for most of Monday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Norfolk Southern Railroad has closed two different railroad crossings in Huntsville for repairs. The work is expected to last all day.

One of the crossings is right in downtown Huntsville. Traffic is being detoured around the crossing at Woodson Street and Holmes Avenue. Motorists should either take Pulaski Pike or Woodston Street to avoid the area.

Crews are also making repairs to the railroad crossing on Moores Mill Road near Stanwood Boulevard.

Please avoid the areas impacted if at all possible.

The work is expected to last until approximately 4:30 p.m.
