Prisoner at Limestone Correctional Facility stabbed by fellow inmate, incident under investigation

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – The Department of Corrections is investigating  a stabbing inside Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest. It happened around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.

Bob Horton, with the Department of Corrections, says an inmate was stabbed during a fight with another inmate.

He says officers responded quickly and detained both inmates.

The stabbing victim was taken to an off-site medical facility for treatment. He was treated and released back to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Horton says the names of the inmates involved will not be released.
