Marshall County traffic stop leads police to 2.5 pounds of meth

ARAB, Ala. —  A man is facing drug trafficking charges after officers found 2.5 pounds of meth in his car.

Law enforcement officials arrested Hugo Contreras – Cervantes Wednesday night.

Arab Police pulled him over on Highway 231. Officials say Contreras-Cervantes was arrested for giving officers false information.

After officers searched the car, they found the meth and a pistol. Contreras-Cervantes is being held in the Marshall County Jail.

The Marshall County Drug Task Force also helped in the investigation.
