HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Facebook has some great tools to help broadcasting professionals reach their audience on its social network.

WHNT News 19 uses both Facebook Mentions and Facebook Live frequently, for example. Our anchors and reporters also use these tools, especially during severe weather or urgent news events.

If you’re not seeing notifications from us whenever these alerts happen on Facebook, here’s how to make sure you do:

  1. Make sure you’ve liked WHNT News 19’s official fan page, as well as the fan pages for your favorite anchors and reporters.
  2. Select one of those pages, and open the “liked” button drop down menu.
  3. Select “All On” under NOTIFICATIONS to receive every update from the page.
  4. For customized notifications, click the small pencil on the upper-right hand corner. Then select the updates you want; from videos to posts to status updates. Don’t forget to activate the live video selection!
