Man charged with rape, investigators say victim’s children witnessed crime
LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – Investigators say a Madison man arrested Thursday for domestic violence assault now faces a charge of first-degree rape.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rorey George Otey, 35, after responding to a complaint at the Athens-Limestone Hospital about a possible rape and assault that occurred earlier in the day on Segers Road.
Otey was initially charged with domestic violence assault, but investigators gathered more evidence and added the rape charge.
Otey allegedly raped the woman in front of her three children.
Otey is being held in the Limestone County Jail on $55,000 bond.
