LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Limestone County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested two staff members from East Limestone High School.

On Thursday, authorities announced the arrest of Devin Robinson. He is charged with a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student.

On March 11, Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Trey Alton Stinson. He is also charged with school employee engaging in a sex act with a student. Officials with Limestone County Schools say he worked as an instruction assistant at East Limestone High School. Stinson was also an assistant football and softball coach.

Officials with Limestone County Schools say the investigations are not directly related. The victims are not the same.

The Limestone County Board of Education placed both employees on administrative leave. School officials released this statement Thursday evening:

We appreciate and value the work of the Limestone ┬áCounty Sheriff’s Office in these recent matters. As the Sheriff’s Office pursues these issues from a legal standpoint we will continue independently to address these issues through administrative proceedings with the Board of Education.

Officials with the school system say Stinson submitted his resignation Thursday afternoon. As a formality, the school board still needs to vote to accept it.
