HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have both been accused of being weak on foreign policy. A new poll however, shows the two presidential candidates have the most support among surveyed military personnel.

An exclusive Military Times survey showed Trump and Sanders emerging as “active-duty service members’ top choices to become the next commander in chief.”

Trump, currently the GOP front-runner, was most popular. Twenty-seven percent of respondents backed the businessman. Sanders, the independent Vermont senator, was close behind Trump with 22 percent of support.

The survey included 931 active-duty troops, reservists and members of the National Guard and should not be considered scientific.
