Hwy. 72 in Jackson County blocked due to deadly wreck involving log truck

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. – One person died in a wreck involving a passenger truck and a semi hauling logs.  Highway 72 eastbound, between Scottsboro and Hollywood, is blocked due to the cleanup.

Scottsboro Police say a pickup truck and log truck collided near Sports Cycles, located at 27181 John T. Reid Parkway.

Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries, including the driver of the semi. Logs spilled on the road.

A passenger in the smaller truck died.

Police have not released names of those involved yet.
