Man killed after hitting tree in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Alabama State Troopers say a 25-year-old man was killed Monday evening after crashing into a tree.

Troopers say Benjamin Ellis Land died from his injuries at the hospital.

Investigators say the crash happened at just after 4 p.m. on Butler Road, 12 miles north of Huntsville. Authorities say we Land left left the road and struck a tree. Officials are still trying to determine what caused Land to lose control of his pickup truck.
