MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. – Volunteer firefighters spent the night trying to contain a brush fire in Morgan County. It started just off Kenny Clay Road.

Crews were called around midnight.

The fire covered one acre, but quickly grew to 15 acres.

The Alabama Forestry Department brought in heavy equipment to make a fire line.

Fire crews had to deal with dry brush, high winds and uneven terrain to fight the fire, but are now confident they have everything under control. They have now left the area.
