HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A student was caught with a gun and arrested Monday on the campus of Lee High School and New Century Technology Schools.

School staff received a tip that a male student had brought a weapon to campus.  The student was quickly caught. The student had a gun, but police say it was not loaded.

Police say the student is charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Lee High and New Century Technology Schools are both located on the same campus at 2500 Meridian Street.  During the lockdown, the gates were locked around the school, barring people from entering or leaving campus.

Keith Ward, spokesperson for Huntsville City Schools, said the student faces possible expulsion.
