DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT)–A man wanted in connection to a deadly shooting and robbery that happened in January has turned himself in to Decatur Police.
Christopher Andre Swoopes, 26, of Huntsville is charged with Capital Murder in the death of Saul Ocampo. On January 26, 2016, officers arrived at a home at 408 6th Avenue Southwest in Decatur to find Ocampo’s body lying in the doorway. During the investigation it was discovered that Ocampo had been shot during a robbery.
Swoopes turned himself in to the Decatur Police Department Wednesday, about two months after the crime. Swoopes was booked into the Decatur City Jail and was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail with no bond.
