MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. - One Madison County girl is giving back in big, fluffy way.  Julie Reid is a third grader at Lynn Fanning Elementary and she organized a stuffed animal drive at her school.

On Friday, Julie donated the more than 300 toys collected to both Christmas Charities Year Round and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

Julie says she had the idea after she had a tonsillectomy, and visitors brought her a stuffed animal to comfort her while in the hospital.  She says she is thrilled that her classmates were willing to help.

"I think it's a really great thing that kids, they're learning that they need to share and they're not just giving them, they're buying them and showing how much they care," said Julie.

Julie says she also encourages the recipients of these stuffed animals to not be afraid to do the same thing for someone else in the future.
