MADISON, Ala. – Madison Police have released more information about a deadly wreck involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle on Feb. 12.  It happened on I-565 at the Wall Triana exit and blocked traffic for several hours.

Police say the person who died was 31-year-old Jamila Kanika Davis of Savannah, Georgia.  She was the driver of the passenger vehicle.

Police say the tractor-trailer had been headed west on I-565 when the truck left the roadway and entered the eastbound lane, striking Davis’ vehicle.  She died on the scene.

Police say they are still investigating what caused the driver of the 18-wheeler to veer off to the other side of the road.
