HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Commuters on Jordan Lane faced a major headache Saturday afternoon, and the cause was an unusual traffic incident.

An 18-wheeler traveling south on the well-traveled street took down some power lines. This happened just north of Sparkman Drive before two in the afternoon.

The power lines got caught between the cabin and the trailer.

Huntsville Police and Huntsville Fire & Rescue were on scene. Drivers traveling south on Jordan Lane were diverted, while northbound traffic was down to one lane.

Police maintained traffic control until utilities and phone companies repaired the lines.

The roads were reopened around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
