Cam Newton wins AP NFL Most Valuable Player

It's been a Super year for former Auburn star Cam Newton

SAN FRANCISCO (WHNT) – Cam Newton has been named the AP NFL Most Valuable Player.

Newton lead the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 regular season before charging through the playoffs. On Sunday night, he’ll face the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

For now, Newton can revel in being named the NFL’s MVP.

He threw for nearly 4,000 yards and 35 touchdowns, not to mention rushing for another 600+ yards and scoring ten touchdowns on the ground.

Newton is the sixth player to win the Heisman Trophy then go on to win the MVP award.
