MADISON COUNTY, Ala - The Madison County Sheriff's Office has charged a man multiple sex crimes against children.

David Lamar Camp has been arrested and charged by the Madison County Sheriff's Office with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12, two counts of rape first degree, and one count of sodomy first degree. His bond is listed as $240,000.

At a press conference Friday afternoon, Madison County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Michael Salomonsky said Camp was arrested as a result of a joint investigation with Homeland Security. He said an investigation into possible child pornography at Camp's residence turned up evidence that Camp had abused two children.

Salomonsky didn't release much information about the investigation to protect the identity of the victims, but he said he wants the public to know that his office has the resources and motivation to pursue cases like this and follow the trail of abuse as far as it will go.
