Firefighters respond to vehicle fire in driveway of Madison County home

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Volunteer firefighters in Madison County worked overnight to save a home from major damage after a vehicle parked in the driveway caught fire.

Firefighters responded to the 500 block of Bell Circle around 12:30 a.m. Friday.  A BMW parked in a driveway caught fire.  Crews say the fire started in the vehicle’s engine compartment.  Another vehicle parked next to the BMW was also damaged.

The flames spread to the home and caused some scorch marks.  Fortunately, the home did not sustain any major damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
