KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. – A deer who apparently had a bucket stuck on her head for months is now free from it, thanks to some quick work by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

People in west Knoxville said they had seen the doe for months, but TWRA wasn’t able to catch her.  Wednesday, they were able to shoot her with a tranquilizer gun.

They got the bucket off of her head, and within minutes, she was up and away, WVLT reports.

“It was a very rare occurrence, one that we could actually help and do something with. Most of the time an animal is injured it’s beyond what we can do to help,” said TWRA spokesperson Matt Cameron.

The TWRA believes the bucket might have been used for feeding animals, such as chickens.
