WASHINGTON D.C. (CNN) – Not even blizzard conditions keep the soldiers from guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.

Even though the cemetery is closed because of the harsh weather conditions, guards will continue to stand near the tomb.

The cemetery says the guards maintain a constant vigil at the tomb, regardless of weather.

The sun still comes up. Even after a record 18-inches of snow, the path of those guarding the tomb is clear for the mission to continue.
