Huntsville Firefighters respond to structure fire on Laurel Drive

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Fire and Rescue currently has several units at a house on Laurel Drive.

There are currently four units on the scene.

Firefighters arrived to smoke and flames coming from the building.

Firefighters tell us there were people inside the home when the fire started. All got out safely. HEMSI paramedics did evaluate one of the people as a precaution for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire is under control, but firefighters are still working to extinguish hot spots.

The American Red Cross is going to help the three people displaced by the fire.

There is extensive damage to one side of the home.
