Alabama among states with most February tornado touchdowns

Based on records available through the Storm Prediction Center, Alabama has one of the highest numbers of February tornado touchdowns in the country.

131 tornado touchdowns have been recorded between 1950 and 2014. Florida (177), Texas (190) and Mississippi (190) have the most tornado touchdowns. Louisiana trails Alabama with 122 touchdowns reported over the same time period.

15 states and the District of Columbia have not had a tornado touchdown in February reported in modern history.
