GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) —  The Alabama State Park system will postpone the proposed park entrance fee at Lake Guntersville State Park.

We will continue to keep you updated as we receive news on this topic.

The State Park system has made a decision to postpone the implementation of the park entrance fee at Lake Guntersville State Park. While funding for the park system remains a great concern, we will focus our efforts over the next few months on a permanent and global solution to the annual budget transfers and revenue structure. We will reassess this situation this spring to make a final decision on this management strategy for 2016.”

There is no word on potential park fees for other state parks in the area or statewide.
