Jonathan Wallace proposes using video board at Jordan-Hare Stadium

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn wide receiver Jonathan Wallace pulled off quite a surprise inside Jordan-Hare Stadium over the weekend. He proposed to his girlfriend using college football’s largest stadium video board.

Wallace’s sister, Chaniece Wallace, gave us permission to share video of the proposal she posted to her Facebook page. It is posted in two parts below.

Chaniece called it the best proposal she had ever witnessed. Apparently, bride-to-be Ashley Kotero had organized a surprise for Wallace. But the surprise was really on her. “Family, friends, coaches, and teammates knew how much Jonathan adored Ashley, so everyone went out of their way to help Jonathan organize a heart-felt proposal,” said Chaniece.

During the proposal, Wallace calls a friend and asks him to go ahead an “change it.” That’s when you see the video board change to ask “Will you marry me?” (The ‘A’ was, of course, replaced with Auburn’s interlocking AU).

Kotero then turned around to Wallace, who was down on one knee. After a very moving speech from Wallace, Kotero said “Yes!”
