ATHENS, Ga. - Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is slated to become Georgia's new head football coach, according to several reports.

Both the Atlanta Journal Constitution  and our news partners at AL.com are reporting they have confirmed Smart's move through anonymous sources.

Smart, Alabama's defensive coordinator, played for the Bulldogs during his time in college. He's been with the Tide through nine seasons, helping to bring home three national championships.

Nothing official is expected to be announced from Athens until after Alabama plays Florida this Saturday in the SEC Championship.
