Three children were taken into protective custody

NASHVILLE, Tn. (CNN) – A woman in Nashville is charged with DUI after police say she drove her car into a pond, with her three kids inside.

Police say 31-year-old Sharnette Fowler is also facing charges of child endangerment, her kids are two, five and eight years old.

Officers received a call early Thursday morning from the 5-year-old who told them what happened.

When they arrived on scene, all three children were wet, cold and crying, but unharmed.

The kids were taken to the hospital as a precaution.  The Department of Children’s Services was called to look for family to take them into custody.
