1 person dead, 4 injured in Saturday morning crash in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama State Troopers office confirmed a single-vehicle crash killed one person and left four others injured. Troopers said it happened on US 72 West around 6:30 a.m about four miles outside of Athens.

State troopers say Rocky Balboa Lowe, 33, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma was killed. They say the car he was driving left the road and hit a culvert.

Troopers add that Lowe was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other passengers were 37, 15, 9, and 8 years old.

Troopers said the surviving four passengers were flown to Huntsville Hospital.
