REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. – Redstone Arsenal Gate 8 is reopened after an incident at that location.

Arsenal authorities asked drivers to avoid the area around 3:50 p.m. Monday. Redstone officials said a disturbance at the on-post housing area led to a chase, resulting in a driver being stopped by the grab net system at Gate 8.

When Arsenal police arrived at the housing area, they found a woman fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. Police saw her run a traffic light, narrowly missing two other vehicles before hitting a police vehicle, according to officials.

When the driver reached Gate 8, the grab net system was deployed to stop her from leaving. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
