HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Consumers in the Tennessee Valley have been counting down the days until the new Whole Foods Market opens in Huntsville. This weekend, that long wait will finally come to an end. The fresh and high quality market opens on Saturday.

Costumers like Laura Howard have been waiting for this day since city developers first announced the development in 2014.

"I am excited about Whole Foods because it is just another store that we can offer local food and organic products and a variety of different things," said Howard. "My husband I try to eat healthy and eat clean. We try to grow as many of our own vegetables as we can, and it is nice when you can't grow everything that you have; a local place that you can come to get organic vegetables and meat products," she added.

Whole Foods makes shopping and eating clean very simple.  The store's staff members are very educated on all of the foods that they offer.  Shoppers no longer have to study nutrition facts on the back of the product they use. Whole Foods has an easy system that does it for you.

Jeremy Barnes is the store manager and says Whole Foods has much more to offer than quality, fresh, and natural food.

"You know, the experience is what we really focus on. We want folks to know how excited we are about our products. I think it is evident right when you walk through the door," he said.

Another unique aspect of the Whole Foods shopping experience is that shoppers will notice a lot of local products. People will see beer, goat cheese, tea, apples and several items that are made and grown right here in the Tennessee Valley.
