REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. – Authorities on Redstone Arsenal dealt with a widespread power outage Wednesday morning. It also impacted Marshall Space Flight Center.

The outage was reported just after 10 AM. Around 11 AM, MSFC and Redstone Arsenal sent out an advisory that power was restored, but some buildings may still be down. Facility Maintenance was addressing those areas, the advisory said.

The outage may also be impacting traffic lights in the area. Remember, intersections where traffic lights are out should be treated as 4-way stops.

WHNT News 19 contacted the TVA. Kristine Shattuck-Cooper, Public Relations for TVA, told us the issue was not with TVA equipment and indicated the equipment failure was on Redstone Arsenal.

A Redstone Arsenal spokesman said a breaker at Substation 3 “had  safety shutdown.” He said the arsenal had rerouted power from another substation to fix the issue.
