Florence a finalist for ‘Great Places in America’ online competition

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Florence’s Historic Downtown was named a finalist for the Great Places in America ‘People’s Choice’ award.

Florence is one of five finalists for a social media contest put on by the American Planning Association.

You can vote for your favorite neighborhood, street, or public space now through October 30. Votes are calculated based upon shares on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) using the hashtag #GreatPlaces.

The designation receiving the most votes will be announced as the 2015 “People’s Choice” designation on November 2.
