Madison Mayor Troy Trulock announces re-election bid

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT)- Sunday afternoon Mayor Troy Trulock announced his decision to run for re-election in the 2016 mayoral race. Below is a statement that he sent out with his announcement.

Mayor Troy Trulock has been the Mayor of Madison since 2012. In his announcement to run for re-election Mayor Trulock goes over a few of his accomplishments during his term as mayor. He mentioned the County Line Road interchange, Old Madison Pike bridge improvements, and connecting miles of greenway walking paths in Madison.

“Our fiscal year 2015 just ended with the highest revenues for the city in the past 8 years.  We are proud to report that the Standards and Poor’s rating agency has given the City of Madison a AA+ rating. This is the highest rating for a city of our size showing tremendous financial strength as well as strong financial growth for the future,” said Mayor Trulock.

He also recognized several community organizations that have help Madison grow into a great community. Mayor Trulock explained why he loved living in the Madison community  and why he believes it is a great place to raise a family.
