Students allowed to re-enter Auburn’s Lowder Center after evacuation, no threat on campus

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn University’s Lowder Center was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious person was reported by AU Alert.

The all clear has been given and all students are allowed to return to class.

Students on social media reported armed police evacuated students just before 2:30 p.m. after a suspicious person wearing dark clothing was reported. Police talked to the person and determined there was no threat, the university said.

Auburn Police said the person who called in the suspicious person report mistook the person’s medical brace for body armor.
