Flash flood warning issued for two counties in South Carolina

CHARLESTON, South Carolina- The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for Berkeley and Charleston Counties in South Carolina early Sunday. The weather service is expecting, “catastrophic flash flooding.” A flash flood emergency is also in effect for Dorchester County. ​

As Hurrican Joaquin menaces Bermuda, President Obama declared a State of Emergency for the state of South Carolina as the state deals with historic flooding.

At least five weather-related deaths have been reported while rain and flood warning remain in effect for parts of the East Coast.
