RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police have released surveillance video of a man they believe to be responsible for several thefts in the last week.

Around lunchtime in Russellville, the parking lot at “Too Fat Sisters Kitchen” is normally full. But last Friday, while no one was around the restaurant was burglarized.  It’s one of three burglaries that happened between midnight and 4:20 a.m.

“All three were basically the same as far as prying the back door open,” explained Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett. “We were able to actually get some surveillance video from a couple of the businesses.”

Russellville Police say they have video of their prime suspect.

Investigators believe he broke in to the two restaurants on the north end of the city and stopped by Walmart to get a headlight and a pair of jeans.

Cameras then followed his car to the back of El Patron restaurant, where they recorded him breaking into the back door. Hargett said this man needs to be put behind bars.

“These are people that have roots tied to this community and have worked hard, and usually work seven days a week to try and make it,” stated Hargett. “We definitely want to try and bring these people to justice.”

Authorities in Lawrence County believe the same man broke into several businesses there earlier last week. He is also a person of interest for a couple of other northwest Alabama burglaries.
