South Alabama fugitive wanted for attempted murder caught in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police have arrested a fugitive from south Alabama wanted for attempted murder.  Billy Joe Alvarado was caught last night at a hotel on North Memorial Parkway.

Alvarado was wanted by the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office.  The attempted murder happened in 2014 in Slocomb, Alabama.


Officers on the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force tracked Alvarado to the hotel, and arrested him as he left the parking lot.

He is being held in the Madison County Jail awaiting transfer to Geneva County.

Geneva County is south of Dothan, and borders Florida.
