Moore’s body was found in a wooded area in Heard County, Georgia on September 23.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said the body was partially decomposed, and used medical records to identify Moore.

The GBI says hunters found the body near U.S. Highway 27 and Edwards Road.

The GBI says Moore died of a gunshot wound.  Dimitri Merci Jackson, 29, has been charged with Moore’s murder.

Moore, a UAH student, was reported missing last month.  His family says they had not seen him since September 1.  The Chicago native studied at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and his family and 18-year-old daughter live in Atlanta.  WHNT News 19 spoke with them last weekend about their search for answers.

Jackson, the suspect, is also a student at UAH.
