UPDATE: One person charged in Saturday evening shooting in Huntsville

UPDATE – Huntsville Police have charged a 14 year old male teenager with first degree assault after they found him behind an apartment on Mason Court.

Here are the initial details from police:

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police responded to a shooting call at the corner of Appleby Street and Holmes Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Police tell us the shooting involved two juveniles. They say they have someone in custody that they believe to be the shooter. Police say he is thirteen or fourteen years old. The victim is seventeen and has potentially life-threatening injuries.

They did tell WHNT News 19 that the victim was alert when emergency responders got to the scene.

Police say they’re limited what information they can release early in the investigation because of the ages of the two young people involved.
