Decatur Police searching for gunman after Friday afternoon robbery

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – The Decatur Police Department is asking for the community’s help to find the gunman at the center of an armed bank robbery on Friday afternoon.

Police said it happened at the Family Security Credit Union on 14th Street around 2:30 p.m. Officers said the gunman walked into the building, put a gun in the face of a teller and demanded money.

Police are describing the person as a Hispanic man, possibly a teenager or in his late 20’s with a thin build.
