Alarm investigation leads deputies to marijuana bust in Athens

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – Deputies investigating an alarm going off at a residence on Cross Key Rd. in Athens discovered something surprising behind the home.

Jonathan Dakota Norwood, 21, of Athens was arrested and charged with illegal possession of marijuana after deputies  discovered several mature marijuana plants behind his residence, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Young said seven marijuana plants were discovered behind the residence while deputies investigated the alarm.

Norwood is in jail on a $5,000 bond.
