Two face drug charges after deputies find couple apparently passed out in vehicle sitting in road

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. – DeKalb County Deputies were called to County Road 50 in the Grove Oak area for a vehicle sitting in the road. The occupants appeared to be passed out.

 

Deputies say they saw a hand gun in plain view as they approached they vehicle. They then removed the two people inside, then searched the vehicle with permission.

The search revealed the handgun with an altered serial number, spice, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and marijuana.

William Duke, 30, and Cortney Hillis, 25, face charges of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Spice), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trafficking in any Illegal Drug.

Both were taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
