Lauderdale-Florence Tourism Board selects Canadian as executive director
FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT ) – Florence-Lauderdale Tourism board members voted Tuesday to offer the executive director’s job to Rob Carnegie.
Members said Carnegie currently holds a similar position in Canada. Now, he has to formally accept the offer.
Carnegie was the first of three candidates members interviewed for the position left empty in February.
In a second motion today the board voted to give assistant director Alison Stanfield, also a candidate for the job, a $7,500 bonus for the job she has done the past six months. Stanfield had stepped up to fill the duties for the tourism department while they searched for a new director.
She was never named interim director nor paid for the additional role she assumed.
