TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT)– An airmass rich with moisture will support more heavy downpours and storms throughout the day Saturday. It won’t rain everywhere, or in any one spot all day, but where rain does occur, 1-3 inches of rain are very possible. Storms aren’t moving very fast, so flash flooding is also a concern underneath the heaviest storms.

Severe weather is also not expected– this is standard summertime weather. The strongest storms will contain torrential rain, lots of lightning and gusty winds between 30 and 50 miles per hour– that’s enough to bring down large tree branches and blow around items on your porch or patio.
